Tillalili Fat Quarter Club July 2019

Tillalili Fat Quarter Club
July 2019

It's "Christmas in July!"

What better way to celebrate Christmas in July than with a Smorgasbord of holiday prints!
Some prints will coordinate, some won't.

Christmas is the time of year where your decorations don't have to match your home décor.
Even if your home has a modern feel, you can have beautiful, traditional holiday decorations.
And of course, you can use your fat quarters to make gifts like this drawstring bag I made.

It only takes a few fat quarters to make these easy, lined bags.
The FREE tutorial by Jeni Baker of In Color Order is here
Jeni also has a pattern for 8 different size bags.
Use them for gifts, travel bags, knitting, and more.

For the 5 FQ club I started with the whimsical birds print from Jingle Birds by Keiki for Moda.
The print is so fun and FULL of colors, which made it really easy to curate a bundle.
I added a green crosshatch print from The Cookie Exchange by Sweetwater Fabrics to act as a solid/blender, a red vine print from Jingle Birds, and 2 grey prints from The Cookie Exchange.
Add a few more red prints, or even some aqua, from your stash and you'll have a great start to your
holiday projects!

The 10 FQ club bundles have a variety of smaller curated bundles within the 10 fat quarters.
If you said you would like panels, you received an adorable panel from the Winter Wishes Collection by Whistler Studios for Windham Fabrics, along with matching prints from the collection. (The panel replaces 2 fat quarters).  There's so many different things you can make with this fun panel. My suggestions? A bench pillow, square pillows, pot holders, placemats, for a start. I think the "gift tags" (top right) would be so cute as coasters.  You could combine the "gift tag" coaster with a Christmas mug and packets of hot chocolate for a great little holiday gift.

More Winter Wishes prints were added to the bundle along with other coordinating prints.
Most bundles this month have 2 sets of 5 curated fat quarters.  The 2 bundles don't coordinate with each other.  Some bundles have a 5 FQ curated bundle of Winter Wishes, while the other FQ bundle is curated with a more traditional collection such as Delightful December or Under the Mistletoe.

Under The Mistletoe

Delightful December

Midnight Clear

There were too many holiday collections to mention them all.
I hope these bundles will inspire you to get a head start on your holiday projects.
Don't forget to share your projects with everyone on the club Facebook page!

  1. Love my bundle. Five each look great together, one more traditional colors, the other not, but they all work well together. I can hardly wait to start sewing. We had a bit of a flood in our kitchen that ended up in my laundry room where I store some of my fabric. What a mess, having to wash that much fabric isn't fun but I didn't want to loose it. Washing and drying was worth it, now I can rotate some into my current stash and I'll be off. Should be able to start sewing in by the end of next week
Thank you again for the beautiful fabrics

    1. Hi Suzy! Glad you love your bundle! yay!!
I've had fabric get wet before too. It's not fun. My fabric is in plastic bins and tubs now. I don't want to go through that again!
Make the small investment in some bins. I get them cheap at Walmart.

  2. Thank you so much for the drawstring bag tutorial. I love it! I'm going to have to make many of them. Maybe, this year, my present will be picked first at work's gift exchange. LOL The fabrics will go wonderfully with this pattern. You have an awesome eye, Gwen!
